Singer/actress Teyana Taylor is back with her first single in five years, dropping the song “Long Time” – the lead single from her album, Escape Room, dropping in August.

Taylor wrote in an Instagram post celebrating the new music: “wow it’s really happening y’all it’s been a #Longtime coming… I’m here debuting new music! My single & visual “LONG TIME” streaming on all platforms tomorrow 6/4 10 AM est! I wanna thank y’all for rock’n & ride’n with AunTey throughout my faith walk. The song comes alongside the music video for the track, which sees LaKeith Stanfield playing her husband, while Aaron Pierre portrays an apparent detective. The song describes the singer’s realization that she should have left her relationship a long time ago. Taylor wrote, directed, and produced the video, in cooperation with her all-female production company the Aunties.

Later this year, Teyana will star opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro, and Sean Penn in One Battle After Another, the latest full-length theatrical release from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson. She’s also set to join Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in The Rip on Netflix, and is part of Ryan Murphy’s All’s Fair alongside Kim Kardashian, Naomi Watts, Glenn Close, and Sarah Paulson.
