Lady Gaga leads the list of nominees for the 2025 MTV Video Awards

MTV has revealed the list of nominees for the 2025 MTV VMAs, returning to New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, September 7th at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT, and airing live on CBS and MTV.

Lady Gaga leads the nominations with 12 nods, including Video of the Year and Best Album, making her the award show’s most-nominated artist for the third time. Gaga is followed closely by her “Die With a Smile” duet partner Bruno Mars, who earned 11 nominations. Other top contenders are Kendrick Lamar (10), ROSÉ and Sabrina Carpenter (eight each), Ariana Grande and The Weeknd (seven each), Billie Eilish (six), and Charli xcx (5).

‘Video of the Year’ nominees include Ariana Grande’s “Brighter Days Ahead,” Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars duet “Die With a Smile,” Rosé and Bruno Mars duet for “APT,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and The Weeknd and Playboi Carti video for “Timeless.”

‘Artist of the Year’ nominees include: Bad Bunny, Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift and The Weeknd. while Alex Warren, Ella Langley, Gigi Perez, Lola Young, sombr and The Marias are up for for ‘Best New Artist.’

The nominees for ‘Song of the Year’ are:  Alex Warren’s “Ordinary,” Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Doechii’s “Anxiety,” Ed Sheeran’s “Sapphire,” Gracie Abrams’ “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” “Die With a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, Lorde’s “What was That,” “APT” by Rosé and Bruno Mars, Tate McRae’s “Sports Car” or “Timeless” by the The Weeknd and Playboi Carti.

Gaga has won 18 VMAs throughout her career, with Taylor Swift and Beyoncé currently tied for most VMA wins (30 each).

Fans can cast their votes at vote.mtv.com. The MTV VMAs will broadcast live from the UBS Arena in New York on Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. EDT.
