The Philadelphia Eagles have reached an agreement to acquire edge rusher Jaelan Phillips from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The move comes as Philadelphia continues to aggressively strengthen its roster ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline. Over the past week, the defending Super Bowl champions also traded for cornerbacks Jaire Alexander and Michael Carter, signaling a clear push to reinforce their defense for another postseason run.

Phillips, 26, was selected 18th overall by Miami in the 2021 NFL Draft and has compiled 26 career sacks over five seasons with the team. This year, he’s recorded 25 total tackles, three sacks, and one fumble recovery through his first nine starts.

A standout as a rookie with a career-best 8.5 sacks, Phillips’ progress was slowed by injuries that sidelined him for 22 games across the 2023 and 2024 seasons. He’s currently in the final year of his rookie deal, playing on the fifth-year option, and is set to enter free agency at the end of the season.

The Eagles, coming off a bye week, sit at 6-2 and are preparing for a Monday night showdown against the Green Bay Packers (5-2-1) at Lambeau Field on November 10. Meanwhile, the struggling Dolphins (2-7) will look to rebound when they host the Buffalo Bills (6-2) on Sunday in Miami Gardens, Fla.
