Rod Wave was arrested Friday in Fulton County, Georgia on weapon and drug charges.

TMZ reported that the 27-year-old Wave – real name Rodarius Green – was taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department and booked into the Fulton County Jail on charges including reckless driving, possessing a Schedule V controlled narcotic, possessing a Schedule II controlled substance, and possessing a firearm or knife while committing or attempting to commit specific felony. This marks Green’s third arrest in Fulton County this year, following previous arrests in May on 14 separate charges (including aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a felony); and again in June on battery charges.

Wave’s attorneys, Drew Findling, Marissa Goldberg and Zack Findling, said in a statement that the rapper “was unjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested in Atlanta. The arresting officer belongs to the Atlanta Police Department’s controversial Crime Suppression Unit — a group known for its aggressive tactics and emphasis on high arrest numbers rather than genuine public safety.” The attorneys added that their client’s arrest was a result of the unit’s “quota-driven approach,” and said the arrest was a “clear violation of [his] rights.” Findling added that his client had already made his first court appearance and was released on a bond of $8,000.

Wave’s latest round of legal woes comes on the heels of his first-ever Grammy Award nomination in the ‘Best Song Written for Visual Media’ category for his song “Sinners,” from the 2025 film Sinners.. The rapper is also gearing up for his upcoming ‘The Redemption Experience Tour’ scheduled to kick-off Dec. 7 in Los Angeles.
