After months of speculation, Metallica has officially announced its Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

The eight-show run is set for October 1 and 3, 15 and 17, 22 and 24, and 29 and 31, 2026, marking the band’s first performances at the cutting-edge venue — and making them the first hard rock act to headline it.

The dates will continue the group’s “No Repeat Weekend” format, introduced with their M72 World Tour in 2023. As with that concept, no songs will be duplicated between the Thursday and Saturday shows during each pairing of concerts.

Metallica has been consistently touring since launching the M72 trek in spring 2023, playing to more than four million fans worldwide. Yet, the idea of Sphere has been brewing for years. Reflecting on seeing U2 open the venue in 2023, drummer Lars Ulrich recalled, “About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in ‘23, I thought ‘We have to do this, it’s completely uncharted territory!  This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way f**kin’ psyched to go next level!”

The residency promises a career-spanning setlist filled with classics and unexpected selections, amplified by Sphere’s immersive technology. The venue’s wraparound ultra-high-resolution LED screen, precision-engineered sound system and multi-sensory 4D features are designed to transform the live experience for audiences — and for band members James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo alike.

Two-night ‘No Repeat Weekend’ passes and single-night tickets go on sale March 6 at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET), following a series of presales. For die-hard fans, the all-access option — now dubbed the Full House Ticket (formerly the I Disappear Ticket) — grants entry to every 2026 Sphere performance. Travel packages and upgraded experiences will also be available, including meet-and-greets, onstage photo opportunities, access to the Black Box Experience, early venue entry and spots inside the Snake Pit.

Sign up to join the presale beginning Tue, Mar 3 via Ticketmaster for access to tickets.
