“Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie released a video message on social media Monday directed at individuals who may hold critical information regarding the whereabouts of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie. The elder Guthrie was reported missing from her Catalina Foothills residence in southern Arizona on Feb. 1. Authorities believe she was abducted after security camera footage captured an unidentified masked person outside her residence.
Addressing the camera directly in the social media video, the television host made an earnest appeal to anyone who might assist in resolving the ongoing investigation. “I’m coming on today with a very specific message,” Guthrie stated in the recording. “It has been months since our mom was taken from us. Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part, but we will never stop looking for her”.
The investigation remains open as law enforcement agencies continue to review potential evidence and leads. Both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department have maintained their search efforts, with federal authorities offering a financial reward for actionable tips that could lead to Nancy Guthrie’s location or an arrest in the case. Guthrie previously offered a separate $1 million reward to assist the search efforts.
In her public address, the news anchor emphasized that time should not prevent individuals from coming forward with pertinent details. “We will always ache for her. Feel that hole in our hearts,” Guthrie said. “The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way. So I’m asking you, begging you, to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her. Tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end. For all of us — no matter where we’ve been and what we’ve done — I believe there is always, always a way home. Please make the right choice”.
Law enforcement officials continue to request that anyone with relevant details contact investigators or submit tips through official FBI reporting channels.
