Philadelphia Eagles’ No. 1 wideout A.J. Brown will not play in the Eagles’ Monday Night Football matchup versus the Atlanta Falcons.  Brown, who was initially listed as questionable with a hamstring injury, was downgraded to ‘out’ on Sunday and will not be available in Week 2; kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday night.

Brown was added to the injury report on Friday after his hamstring “got a little tight” in practice, with head coach Nick Sirianni revealing the next day that he had experienced some tightness in his hamstring during Friday’s practice. Brown was listed as a limited participant for Saturday’s session and originally carried a questionable designation on the final practice report before being ruled out Sunday.

Brown, 27, was acquired by the Eagles from the Tennessee Titans in 2022, and signed a new three-year, $96 million extension this April.  He had not missed a regular-season game since joining Philly, and quickly became the first player in team history to post 1,400-plus receiving yards in back-to-back seasons, setting franchise highs for receiving yards in both campaigns.  In the season-opener, he racked up 119 yards and a touchdown on five receptions during the Eagles Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers in Sao Paulo.

Jahan Dotson will likely assume a larger role with Brown now sidelined; Coach Sirianni said of Dotson: “He has worked his butt off. He’s obviously a very talented player. We’ll see how that goes. But I know that the guys are ready when they need to be, when they’re called upon.”
