Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill underwent season-ending surgery on Tuesday to repair his ACL.  According to coach Mike McDaniel, Hill dislocated his left knee during Monday night’s 27-21 win over the Jets and was hospitalized overnight while undergoing further testing.

The wide receiver was injured early in the third quarter following a first down reception after his leg bent awkwardly on the turf at the sideline. Footage showed Hill immediately go down in pain and call for assistance, with team medical personnel putting an air cast on Hill’s leg. The former All-Pro waved to the crowd and smiled as he was carted off to the locker room.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter went on to report on Tuesday (per sources): “In addition to dislocating his knee, Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill also tore multiple ligaments in his knee, including his ACL, per sources. Hill remains hospitalized and will undergo surgery today.”

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said he accompanied Hill to the hospital, where he was undergoing an MRI and a CT scan to determine the extent of the damage. On Tuesday, Hill posted a video from the hospital bed, right before he went in for the surgery to provide an update and thank fans for their support over the last day.  He said: “I’m about to go in for this surgery, keep ya boy in your prayers. You guys have been awesome, ‘Fins nation, just the whole entire NFL have been amazing, sending me lots of love, lots of prayers. I’m absolutely honored, granted the situation,” he said pointing to his injured leg, “but I love you guys so much and hope to see you soon.”

Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the injury is expected to keep him out the entire 2025 season, with the start of 2026 now being questionable due to the extent of the injury.
