Sting is taking a fresh look at one of his most recognizable songs with the release of a new remix collection centered on “Desert Rose.”

The newly issued Desert Rose Reimagined EP brings together six updated versions of the 2000 track, including three standard remixes and three extended cuts. Among the contributors are the Middle Eastern-American duo Bedouin (Tamer Malki and Rami Abousabe), along with South African artist Zakes Bantwini and producer Darque, each offering their own spin on the song’s signature sound.

Originally appearing on Sting’s 1999 album Brand New Day, “Desert Rose” — which featured Algerian raï singer Cheb Mami — became a major hit, reaching No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and marking Sting’s final Top 40 entry. The album itself performed strongly, climbing to No. 9 on the Billboard 200 and selling more than 3.5 million copies in the U.S.

The Desert Rose Reimagined EP is now available on digital platforms.
